I have been in love with photography since I was 9 years old.
I used to take the camera out of my parents’ dresser drawer without them knowing and run off and take photos of my sister and brother, which they would only know about later after they developed the film. In high school I took a photography class and I was hooked. I spent my junior year as a photographer on the newspaper staff and senior year as photo editor. In 1999 I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Photojournalism from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
As a fashion photographer my work is composition, story and mood driven. I prefer shooting on location and working mostly with natural light. I am also heavily involved in the styling of the models I work with and giving direction for makeup and hair. One of my greatest strengths as a photographer is the ability to make my clients immediately comfortable.
Although I am currently based in beautiful Portland, ME, I travel frequently to Boston, NYC and elsewhere for fashion and client work.
